The geospatial dataset is currently stored and maintained in a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Prior to 2009, the dataset was stored and maintained as ArcInfo coverage. The dataset is being continuously updated with new construction, and ongoing maintenance data as they become available. Data are extracted from Plan and Profile Engineering Drawings obtained Block Map, As Built, Field Book, Taps and Meters, Metro, Autocad Data from GHW Project, Wastewater Reconciliation Project, Other Source (Operator Input), FVFL, FVFD, Field Verified with Control Number, and Construction Layer. All existing manholes and corresponding attributes are identified in the Plan and Profile Engineering Drawing, and digitized in an ArcFM Solution Software session. A quality assurance process is performed to ensure that all existing manholes with their corresponding attributes shown in the Plan and Profile Engineering Drawings were accurately digitized and recorded in the production database before being forwarded to a supervisor. The ArcFM session is then posted by a supervisor in the production database. The dataset is then replicated from the production environment to relative replicated databases every night before being distributed to other divisions within the City of Houston.
